Clackshot

Clackshot is a free browser typing shooter: every keystroke is a shot. It runs on desktop and mobile, needs no account, and works offline once loaded.

Made in code

The visuals are generated by the game itself: ships, explosions and the nebula are drawn as vectors in your browser, and the soundtrack is synthesised live with the Web Audio API.

Sound credits

Sound effects come from the Sci-Fi, Impact and Interface sound packs by Kenney, released into the public domain (CC0). Thank you, Kenney.

Practice tools

Alongside the game there is a free typing speed test, a guide to average typing speeds and a plan for typing faster.

Fair leaderboards

Runs are deterministic: the same seed and the same keystrokes always produce the same game. That lets our server replay every ranked run and verify the score before it appears on a leaderboard.

Fonts

Titles use Unbounded and in-game words use JetBrains Mono, both under the SIL Open Font License, self-hosted.
